Co-op Jambalaya
It's a good week for co-op games. From E-Day to ARC Raiders, I discuss it all.
It's a good week for co-op games. Gears of War: E-Day dropped last week, and ARC Raiders' PvE mode lands tomorrow.
E-Day is a rare example of a well-optimized UE5 game, and it leans hard into co-op. You get the standard PvP fare, a four-player co-op campaign, and Horde Siege, where three teams of four complete objectives in a crumbling city under Locust attack. Horde Siege is absolutely sublime, and incredibly engrossing.
My brother and I have been playing through the campaign and Horde Siege together and having a blast. I'll share detailed thoughts this weekend once I've put more time into the campaign.
Speaking of weekends, I'm moving posts there going forward. This one was supposed to go up yesterday, but I've been on a work grind and worked all weekend.
I'm also excited for the ARC Raiders PvE update. It looks incredibly cool (no pun intended). I'm hoping they make Expeditions worthwhile. I'll do them if they sweeten the pot beyond extra skill points and skins. I don't mind the prestige grind, but it needs to offer real benefits, not just a unique skin or emblem. Some people are into that. I'm not, unless it gives me something of value.
On top of that, Marathon's Symbiosis update in December aims to add a PvE mode. My brother isn't into PvP like I am, so this trend is the perfect answer for our shared hobby. More major titles are giving players different ways to play, and I'm all for it. Some of us are old guys who need things a little slower!
Anyhoo, that's it for now. More to come this weekend.
Until then, Stay Frosty.
